Apprentice Hair Stylist

£3.90 per hour
37.5 hours a week - approximately three days off a week based on a flexible rota

We pride ourselves on providing a 5 star experience and you will always have someone to learn from with 10-15 employees in depending on the day of the week.
 
As an Apprentice Hair Stylist you will be expected to assist with reception duties, housekeeping duties and other basic ad hoc styling duties and will benefit from one to one training from the Salon Director on a weekly basis. 
 
Main duties to include:
  • Meeting and greeting customers
  • Shampooing and blow drying
  • Colour application 
  • General house keeping duties
As the apprenticeship progresses there will be a focus on cutting and styling.
 
This is an entry level position so experience is not essential however an interest in hairdressing and following the latest trends is essential.

  • Punctual - you will be expected to be in the salon 15 minutes prior to your shift starting.
Qualifications
 
GCSE English and Maths grades A-E/9-2 or Functional Skills Level 1.
 
Keep in mind...
 
To be committed in this industry starting off you will need to do a lot of cleaning in the salon, making drinks for colleagues and customers and working early on Saturdays and staying late Thursdays and Fridays.
 
Course plan
 
The apprenticeship will last 18 months and will include working four days at the salon and one day a week in college receiving practical training in a training salon environment. 
 
Future prospects

Upon successful completion of this programme, apprentices will achieve the Level 2 Hairdressing Apprenticeship. Apprentices who complete this programme can progress to a Level 3 qualification including a Level 3 apprenticeship or into employment or higher education. There is the prospect of becoming a stylist on the salon once qualified.
