Level 3 Infrastructure Technician

£4.20 per hour - 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, 28 days holiday per year including bank holidays, Perkbox, pension scheme
Transalis is an IT company based in Portsmouth. Transalis drives client business growth by connecting the supply chain digitally, through the UKs largest information platform.
As the apprentice you will be responsible for delivering high levels of customer satisfaction, prompt response and high quality responses to existing and new customer queries and incident reports. You will be responsible for ensuring agreed technical support requests are responded to and resolved in line with agreed SLA targets.
The main duties will be:
  • Categorising inbound support requests by priority
  • Handling queries sent in by customers via email and telephone
  • Investigation of in-depth queries on company systems
  • Providing information to customers 
  • Escalation of issues where higher access is required to resolve
  • Keeping customers updated on progress of queries
The successful apprentice will have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Any further knowledge around Cloud based services would be advantageous.
Personal qualities
The apprentice will be willing to learn and have a good work ethic as well as being punctual and reliable. 
A*-C/9-4 in GCSE Maths and English or the Functional Skills Level 2 equivalent. A Level 2 IT qualification would be beneficial.
Course breakdown

The apprenticeship qualification lasts for 18 months and formal training usually takes place every 1 to 2 months, this will include 5-10 day release whereby the apprentice will be required to attend dedicated training.

Students will be taught using our online learning platform giving the freedom to attend virtually from anywhere. 
How do you achieve the apprenticeship?

The apprentice will need to successfully complete all stages of the apprenticeship standard. This includes: -

  • Completion of all five Knowledge modules covering 20% off the job training
  • A portfolio of evidence containing real projects carried out within their workplace
  • An employer reference
  • Completion of a business-related project over a one-week period
  • A structured interview with an independent assessor
Apprentices are independently assessed at the end of their programme to achieve the Apprenticeship at aPass, Merit or Distinction grade.
What qualifications can be achieved?
Upon successful completion apprentices will achieve the overall qualification, BCS Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship.  In addition to this qualification, students can also gain: - 
  • CompTIA A+ 1001/1002
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
    • Windows 10, Managing Modern Desktops
  • MTA Mobility and Devices
  • MTA Server Administration
  • ITIL Foundation v4
Apprentices will be recognised by the British Computer Society (BCS) for entry onto the register of IT Technicians, confirming SFIA level 3 professional competence. 
Future prospects
Transalis would like to offer the apprentice a job upon successful completion of their apprenticeship. Students can progress onto our Level 4 apprenticeships or apply for roles within the IT industry.
